Fender Fuse on Mac OS X Sierra, High Sierra and Mojave troobleshooting
Why ?
The installation of Fender Fuse on MAC is not a simple point and click game. Many steps must be followed.
Many of us are not technicians. We are musicians !
Fortunately, i’ve some technical skills, so i can help.
Nota : the images are in french, sorry, I don’t have *2* macs 🙂
Circumstances
I was trying to install Fender Fuse drivers to be able to use my Fender GDEC30 in Abelton Live on my mac book pro (I was on windows before, the installation was without any problem…).
I also wanted to access the DSP management functions, which are very important when you begin to seriously use this hardware.
But what ? The installation process is full of errors ! Impossible to install it… Impossible ? Noooo….
Les différentes erreurs rencontrées et leurs solutions :
- “Unidentified developper” error
- “The operation could not be (OSS Status erreur -67071)” when installing Mono Framework
- And the last : the soft get stuck on “Loading. Please wait…” page, even if we think that it has been correctly installed
The complete tutorial is below, it’s a big work for me, please register !
How do I install Fender Fuse on MAC OS X Sierra (and High Sierra) :
Download Fender Fuse for Mac:
https://fuse.fender.com/get_started/
and then, as always, open the disk image (the dmg)
When launching the installer we get the first (usual) problems …
Problème de sécurité avec GateKeeper :
“Fender Fuse Installer” has been downloaded from the Internet. Do you really want to open it ?
You say yes, and then you get this :
And even if you say yes again, you get “Impossible to open “Fender Fuse.pkg” baecause this app comes from an unidentified developper.
To resolve this, you must go to your security options in you “System Parameters…”, and modify “Allow apps downloaded from :” to “App store and identified developpers”, and click on “open anyway” :
If you encounter more problems, you can copy the installer icon directly on your desktop.
Installation
The installation of the first package proposed by the installer is done correectly (‘i don’t remember what it was…).
Installation of Mono framework
The installation of the Mono Framework ends up with “This operation could not be achieved. (OSSStatus -67071)”.
The solution is to install the last version of Mono Framework, adapted to Sierra.
Download mono framework from there :
http://www.mono-project.com/download/
Finish the Fender Fuse Installation :
The software requires Silverlight. Its installation seems to go well (it’s just a feeling, see after!)
Then you get to the Fender Fuse installer itself.
The installation seems to end up correctly. Here again, it’s just a feeling.
Fender Fuse gets stuck :
Now you have this window when you launch Fender Fuse. Fender Fuse gets stuck on the loading page.
When you launch Fender Fuse, you get stuck on the loading page “Loading. Please Wait…”. You can just close it.
The problem comes from the Silverlight version that is installed. To resolves this issue, you must update it.
The solution follows, it’s a hard work for me, please show me your support and like my page !
Updating Silverlight :
Get to this adress, and download the last pakagesn and install them :
https://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/Get-Started/Install/Default
Now it works ! Tadaaaa !

Hey Jess, thanks. So much shitty information on the web, but your hints made my FenderFUSe run.
thanks for your message. I’m happy that my tutorials are usefull
Thank you so very much! Everything you explained worked perfectly on Mojave! You Rock!
Thanks a lot man, it worked for me!
It finally works! thank you so much!!!
thank You!!!! It worked finally!
I know this is a year after or two but.. just to let guitarists out there know doesn’t work on big sur.. I followed this and god knows how much malware or anything all just to find it doesn’t open. Plus to add more salt into the wound fender put right discontinued it basically wasted my time trying to get it to work on the os. So, to the person who blogged this years ago. Thanks for the great guide but it doesn’t work anymore doesn’t even open, not anymore. (not accusing of malware but this programme looks fun but as of rn a dead dinosaur.) Never really bothered with it until as of 2021 bought a super champ and wanted to try and tweak it more. but, oh well. I guess guitarists can’t have nice things forever.
Hi, well, sorry for delayed answer, this year has been a strange one for everyone. Many peoples say Fender Fuse doesn’t work on big sur. AFAIC, i prefered to stay on Mojave, and i won’t upgrade anymore. (Juste a lead : there is maybe a security option to set “autorise this extension” while installing one of the softwares… if you can test). If you find a way to make this work, I would be glad to hear it. Cheers.
Very kind of you Dell, to save me the long headache without a pay off trying to install fuse on OS 12.3 ,Monterey. Just bought a super champ X2 and facing the same reality. Kinda wish I had done this before making the purchase but I made the final decision based on a review by Phillip McKnight who says he doesn’t use the software but still owns and likes the amp. Anyway. Thanks to you Jess for the work you did before. even tho I guess Monterey and Fuse will never be friends.
